About Event
Crabtown Cares is proud to host a community yard sale with a mission to give back. Throughout July, Crabtown Cleaning will be collecting gently used clothing donations from members of our community. These items will be sold at our yard sale, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit that provides free home cleaning services to individuals undergoing cancer.
The yard sale will take place on August 15th at Wild Kid Acres in Edgewater, MD, and offers a meaningful way to support local families in need. By contributing clothing that’s no longer in your regular rotation or that your family has outgrown, you’re helping transform simple donations into meaningful support for those navigating this difficult time. Whether you’re donating or shopping, your involvement makes a real difference.

Cleaning for a Reason is a nonprofit organization that provides free professional home cleaning services to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Their mission is to help ease the burden of household chores so patients can focus on their health and healing. Since 2006, Cleaning for a Reason has supported thousands of families across the country with the gift of a clean, healthy home during one of life’s most challenging times.
Crabtown Cleaning has been a proud partner of Cleaning for a Reason for the past seven years, completing over 80 free cleanings for individuals and families in need. We’ve also been honored to be recognized among the Top 100 cleaning partners nationwide for several years—something we’re incredibly proud of as we continue to serve our community with care and compassion.

Donate
You can participate by donating gently used clothing, shoes, and new or gently used school supplies. These items will be sold at our community yard sale, with all proceeds supporting Cleaning for a Reason.
Volunteers are essential to the success of our community yard sale! We need volunteers both before and during the event. Prior to the sale, volunteers with assist with sorting and organizing all donated items. On the day of the event, we will need many volunteers to keep things running smoothly – helping with setup, breakdown, managing the flow of visitors, and assisting with checkout. Whether you can spare a few hours or more, your time and support will make a big difference!
